Because when the world feels darker than ever, which it does this Ramadhan with the continued challenges Muslims face at home and abroad, we stand in ever greater need of it. Thankfully, Ramadhan brings Blessed Light to us in abundance. From the moment it begins with the sighting of the faintest sliver of the new moon glinting against the darkening sky, Ramadhan illuminates our days and nights and gifts radiance to our hearts and souls. Noorun-ala-noor, as it says in the Quran. Light upon light.
